As reported by us yesterday, as of Wednesday, December 23, 2020, all foreign nationals will be banned from entering Israel for at least two weeks.

Following an urgent discussion with Ministry officials earlier today, it was clarified in writing that the Ministry will continue to allow entry of a very small number  of foreign experts that are deemed by the Ministry to be extremely essential to the Israeli market such as power plants, oil refinery operations, etc.

The foreign experts that will be allowed to enter Israel may be required to enter mandatory isolation in state-run facilities for at least 10 days, subject to 2 negative COVID-19 tests, as is the case with returning Israeli nationals.

In addition, the Ministry of Interior announced today that a new application for re-entry of foreign experts (currently holding valid B-1 working visas), as well as their dependents, will not be processed until at least January 4, 2021.   KTA will update as soon as clarification is provided or updated regulations will be published.
