⏳ Period
of Quarantine Reduced again: From 12 to 10 days when Entering Israel from Red
Countries
The Israeli Health Ministry has shortened the compulsory isolation period from 12 to 10 days, for those individuals entering Israel from red countries. The change of policy will come into effect on Tuesday, December 15 at 6 a.m.
According to the policy published today, in order to qualify for the reduced quarantine period the individual must complete the following:
- Register with the Ministry of Health via the online form or through the Health Center Line upon arrival.
- Undergo a PCR test for COVID-19 as soon as possible after entering isolation.
- Undergo a second PCR test for COVID-19 from the 9th day after entry into Israel, and at least 24 hours after the first PCR test.
If both tests are negative, a notification will be sent to the individual (in a text message or by phone). The notification is required for exit from the quarantine after 10 days.
The tests must be performed at "drive-through" points or at designated locations for people in isolation.
If an individual has symptoms at any time during the isolation period, the isolation period should not be shortened and the individual should be checked again. This procedure will apply retroactively to those who are currently in isolation.

💉 COVID-19 Vaccination in Israel
Israel is getting ready to start its COVID-19 vaccination drive, which was originally set for December 27, but may be pushed in few days due to a delay in the US regulator "go-ahead".
Israel's largest hospital, Sheba Medical Center already announced that they are prepared to start vaccinating staff for COVID-19 as soon as next week.
