As the coronavirus continues to spread internationally, Poland declared astate of “epidemic emergency” on Thursday, March 12.

In an attempt to better contain the coronavirus outbreak, Poland will ban foreigners (not including foreign-nationals who are residents of Poland) from Sunday, March 15, and impose a 14-day quarantine on its citizens returning home.

"in the current situation, we cannot allow ourselves to keep borders open to foreigners...Those with a residence permit in Poland will be also allowed to enter" said Prime Minister Morawiecki at a press conference held yesterday, Friday, March 13.

No international inbound flights or trains would be allowed from 0000 CET on Sunday, except for some charter flights bringing Poles back from holidays.

According to the press, The government has also issued sanitary controls at all borders. Passengers on coaches and buses crossing should expect to have their temperature taken and fill out isolation forms (stating where they have come from and where they will be staying in Poland). Anyone with a temperature will be taken directly to hospital.
