All arrivals to Israel from abroad will be required to spend 14 days in home-isolation. The measure is effective as of 8:00 pm today for Israeli nationals and will go into effect for all non-Israeli nationals in 3 days (March 12). Travelers who are not residents of Israel will not be allowed in the country and will be sent back unless they can prove, before entry – at the Israeli consulate abroad, the location of the residence where they will be quarantined.
According to the Ministry of Health, home isolation cannot be replaced by a stay in a hotel room.
Until the total ban will take effect the current directives remain: Israel bans the entry of non-Israeli nationals who have visited the East Asian locations of China, Thailand, Hong Kong, Macau, Singapore, Hong Kong, South Korea, Japan, and Italy.
In addition, Israel also instructed that Germany, France, Switzerland,France, Spain, and Austria will be added to a list of countries to which travel to Israel is being barred. Non-Israeli nationals who have visited these countries within 14 days before entry to Israel, will not be able to enter Israel unless they have a proven ability to be isolated at home - this determination is at the discretion of the border officials.
